The Ethics and Public Policy Center is delighted to announce that James C. Capretta, who served as the Bush Administration’s top budget official for health care, Social Security and pensions, education, and labor policy, has joined EPPC as a Fellow in its Economics and Ethics program and as aFirstFocus Fellow.
“Jim Capretta has a remarkable depth and breadth of expertise in federal programs that affect the family,” said EPPC President Ed Whelan. “He’s a great addition to our Economics and Ethics program, which works to promote policies that respect the family as the central institution of American society. We’re very thankful for FirstFocus’s support of his work.”
From 2001 to 2004, Mr. Capretta was the lead official in the Office of Management and Budget for all aspects of Medicare and Medicaid reform policy development and implementation as well as for the development of the President’s other important domestic policy initiatives in Social Security, education, and labor.
Mr. Capretta is the fourth outstanding scholar to join EPPC in the past six months.
