On November 4, 2009, EPPC Fellow James C. Capretta participated in a panel discussion at the Heritage Foundation entitled, “Preserving Freedom and Federalism: What’s at Stake for Americans in the Health Care Debate.” The session focused on the important role states should play in reforming the nation’s health care system. Mr. Capretta focused his comments on the dangers of centralizing too much decision-making in Washington, D.C. and the importance of allowing diverse states to tailor health system changes to the cultural and value preferences of their constituents.
