How Should Washington Control Medicare Spending?

May 19, 2011 | Heritage Foundation

On May 19, 2011 EPPC Fellow James C. Capretta participated in a public forum in Washington, D.C. sponsored by the Heritage Foundation entitled “How Should Washington Control Medicare Spending?” Mr. Capretta participated in a panel and focused his remarks on why a market-based reform of Medicare would be far superior to government-imposed cost controls. The event was moderated by Bob Moffit of the Heritage Foundation, and Mr. Capretta was joined on the panel by Gail Wilensky, a former administrator of the Health Care Financing Administration and now a Senior Fellow at Project Hope. Full details on the event, including audio, are available here. To view the transcript online, click here.
