(Washington): The Ethics and Public Policy Center (EPPC) is pleased to announce that Bioethics, Technology and Human Flourishing fellow Clare Morell’s recently released book, The Tech Exit: A Practical Guide to Freeing Kids and Teens from Smartphones, has won the 2026 Christian Book Award.
The Christian Book Award is among the oldest and most prestigious awards in the religious publishing industry and is presented annually to the best Christian publishing works in 12 categories. The Tech Exit won the award in the Faith and Culture category this year.
The Tech Exit exposes the myths parents have been sold about mitigating the dangers of tech through parental controls and screen-time limits, and demonstrates that another way is possible—even if your children are already using smartphones or social media.
Drawing on dozens of interviews with experts and with families who have gone tech-free, as well as Morell’s own work as a policy expert, The Tech Exit shows parents it is never too late to reverse course on screens and maps a doable pathway to freedom from digital technology for families, local communities, and society over the long term.
The book was a bestseller in its category on Amazon and received widespread praise upon its release.
