The Ethics and Public Policy Center is honored to have the privilege of hosting Anglican Bishop Michael Nazir-Ali, the Bishop of Rochester in the United Kingdom, during his upcoming visit to Washington, D.C. A native of Pakistan, Bishop Nazir-Ali is a recognized expert on inter-faith issues, particularly Christian-Muslim dialogue. He is currently the President of the Anglican Communion’s Network on Inter-Faith Concerns (NIFCON), and also the Chair of the House of Bishops’ Theological Group. In June 1999 he took his seat in the British House of Lords, becoming the first Asian religious leader to sit in the House of Lords.
During his stay at EPPC, Bishop Nazir-Ali will lecture on “Challenges and Opportunities for Muslim-Christian Relationships in South Asia and the Middle East” on February 22 and discuss “Governance, Polity, and Civil Society in Islam and Christianity” with Professor Lamin Sanneh on March 1. These two events are jointly sponsored by EPPC and The International Fellowship of Evangelical Mission Theologians (INFEMIT).
