Dr. Ronen Shoval is a Visiting Fellow in Jewish and Political Thought at the Ethics and Public Policy Center. His work focuses on the deep interplay between theology, politics, and society.

He holds a B.A. in International Relations and Humanities and an M.A. in Jewish Philosophy from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where he completed his dissertation on political theology with honors. He earned a Ph.D. in Philosophy summa cum laude from Paris Nanterre University. He is Dean of the Argaman Institute in Jerusalem and, most recently, served as an Associate Research Scholar and Lecturer in Politics at Princeton University. In 2006, he received the Begin Center Award for Outstanding Academic Research.

He is the author of Herzl’s Vision 2.0, as well as academic and popular articles on theology, politics, and society. His forthcoming book, Holiness and Society: A Socio-Political Exploration of the Mosaic Tradition, will be published by Routledge in 2024.
