VIDEO: Was the Pope’s Iraq Visit a Game-changer?

March 8, 2021 | National Review Institute

On March 8, 2021, EPPC Fellow Luma Simms took part in an online conversation, along with Robert Nicholson of the Philos Project and Kathryn Jean Lopez of the National Review Institute, to discuss Pope Francis’s historic visit to Iraq. Why did the Pope insist on visiting the long-suffering Christians of Iraq, despite the security and pandemic dangers? Is the trip critical and what might it mean for the people of Iraq and the Middle East? What does it mean for us?

Born in Iraq, Mrs. Simms focuses in her writing on the crisis of rootlessness, identity, and dehumanization. Robert Nicholson is President and Executive Director of The Philos Project. Kathryn Jean Lopez is a senior fellow at the National Review Institute.
