Disability Insurance: Inherent Problems, Practical Solutions, and Action for Reform

April 12, 2013 | American Enterprise Institute

The growth in Social Security Disability Insurance (SSDI) enrollment has been the subject of heated debate over the last month. At a symposium on Capitol Hill co-sponsored by the Brookings Institution and the Secretary’s Innovation Group, leading experts discussed the rise in SSDI enrollment and debated the drivers of that increase. EPPC senior fellow Henry Olsen moderated a panel on the current federal disability growth trajectory and provided opening remarks for the panel discussing proposals for reform.
